Malibu of the Midwest
Exploring what it means to live in the "Malibu of the Midwest" OWLS founder Craig Grabhorn has been working with students of South High School exploring design process, and product design while crafting surf boards.
During the past school year we turned a classroom into a shaping, and fiberglassing space to explore ideas and create six surfboards. Students learned about shape values, material usage, graphic approaches, and hand craft methods to shape, fiberglass and build our boards.
We wrapped the project with our first outing to North Beach to test out our work and we couldn’t have been more excited about our work!
